MaxiPoint
Permanent Pointing Every Time
Maxi Point is a viscous, ready to use roof pointing mortar that is easy to use and very durable. Maxi Point is available in a range of colours to suit new and renovated roofs.
Applications & Features
Permanently Flexible
Manufactured from a pure grade internally flexibe acrylic resin to provide permanent flexibility over a wide temperature range and diverse weather conditions.
Smooth to Trowel
Maxi Point does not contain sticky thickeners and the fillers are specially graded to optimize trowel slip, improve application and finishing properties.
Fast Drying
The high resin solids formula of Maxi Point needs to lose less water during curing compared to competing products. In very cold or moist weather conditions drying time can be further accelerated, by adding 375mls of Builders Cement, per 10 litres of Maxi Point. Stir in cement thoroughly. The unused product will set hard quickly and cannot be saved and re-used. Do not add water to retard the curing of Maxi Point after the addition of the cement.
Fade Resistant
The pure grade acrylic and high-quality pigments in Maxi Point are resistant to UV light damage and moisture which would otherwise cause fading and loss of durability.
Paintable
Maxi Point can be easily painted with any Nutech water-based polymer coating including Nu-Prime, GP Primer, Master Sealer, Membrane, Nu-Flex, TileFlex 2000, Asbestos Primer, Insulguard and DecraTex. Surfaces coated with Perm-Point can be re-coated with Maxi Point.
Guaranteed
Maxi Point is guaranteed to resist normal occurring roof movements for 10 years without cracking or breaking away.
Meets Australian Standards
Maxi Point complies with the provisions of the Australian Standard AS 2050-1995 Roof Fixing and accredited with a C3 wind classification.
Application Guide
Application by trowel of a thin film between 3mm and 5mm thick is recommended using a similar technique to conventional pointing mixes. Sponge finishing is not recommended.
New Tile Roofs
Bedding cement should be finished plumb and free of holes and voids. Fresh bedding does not require cull curing before application of Maxi Point. However, it should be dry enough to resist trowel pressure.
Old Tile Roofs
Crumbly cracked and loose unstable bedding and pointing should be replaced. Where pointing over sound old bedding and pointing, the surface must be clean and free of dirt, moss, lichen and other contamination. Maxi Point cannot be expected to adhere to unless the substrate is sound and clean. All existing collars should be removed and the roof re-pointed with new collars.
Storing
Properly re-seal the pail before storing to preserve shelf life. The product must be stored indoors and out of direct sunlight. Prevent product freezing. Storage temperatures should be between 3°C and 45°C.
